Angus Clarke
Managing Director aclarke@rosss.comAngus Clarke graduated from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh with an honours degree in Estate Management. He was appointed a Director in 2016 and became Managing Director in 2024. He is particularly engaged in Ross's digital approach and the company's evolving online auctioneering strategy.
Jonathan Esdale
Art/Antiques Departments jesdale@rosss.comJonathan Esdale joined Ross's in 1984 on an apprenticeship. He has forty years' experience with the company as an auctioneer and valuer. He engages with both the Fine Art and Antiques departments.
Lauren Cremer
Jewellery Department lfrayne@rosss.comLauren Cremer studied Photography at Edinburgh College. She worked in Australia before joining Ross's. She was awarded a scholarship by the Gemological Institute of America and is an Associate of the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers. Lauren is a leading member of the Jewellery department.
Philippa Harty
Jewellery Department pharty@rosss.comPhilippa Harty graduated from the University of Stirling before joining Ross's. After a year working in Glasgow she returned to Ross's to expand the Jewellery department leadership team. She is a GIA scholar and has a diploma in gemology.
Lucy Blaney
Jewellery Department lblaney@rosss.comLucy Blaney graduated from Ulster University with an honours degree in Product Design. She has a scholarship from the Gemological Institute of America and is attached to the Jewellery department. Her expertise extends to product photography & catalogue presentation.
Sophie Duff
Jewellery Department sduff@rosss.comSophie Duff is a modern languages graduate from Queen’s University Belfast. Her knowledge of the valuation and appraisal of jewellery led to a GIA certificate as an applied jewellery professional.
Sophie has engaged in further post-graduate study and is completing her Fellowship of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
Beatrice Wright
Jewellery Department bwright@rosss.comBeatrice Wright graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in History of Art and Architecture, before completing an MA in Art Philosophy and Cultural Institutions at the University of Liverpool. Beatrice has been engaged in curating and cataloguing gallery exhibitions before joining Ross's. She has a keen appreciation of aesthetics and brings an added dimension to Ross's jewellery department.
Alec Grant
Art Department agrant@rosss.comAlec studied History at Plymouth University. He graduated with a First Class Honours degree. After work experience in a Dublin auction house, he joined Ross's Fine Art department.

Jonathan Penman
Antiques Department jpenman@rosss.comJonathan Penman has been with Ross's for twenty five years. He brings his considerable experience to providing front line support to the handling and management of auction assets, from lot allocation to final dispatch. Jonathan is based in Ross's Antiques department.
Sam MacDonald
Whiskey & Wine department smacdonald@rosss.comSam MacDonald leads the Whiskey & Wine department, specialising in the sourcing and valuation. With almost 18 years’ experience in the whiskey industry, his background spans distilling, brand development and international market development, including roles with Teeling and The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Sam is also the founder of the Somerled Club, a private single-cask whiskey club focused on exceptional and rare bottlings.
