William Hollywood

William Hollywood

William Hollywood (1923-1990) was an artist born in Lancashire, England but brought up and educated in Belfast, gaining his diploma in Art & Design from the Belfast College of Art. He ran a successful design business for a number of years but decided to give up the commercial field to pursue his true passion of painting wildlife, particularly wildfowl and game birds. He described himself as a conservationist with strong opinions against cruelty towards animals.

Hollywood had work exhibited at the majority of notable wildlife galleries in Britain including the 1980 Bird Art Exhibition at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, and his paintings are displayed in the Ulster Museum and in various private collections in the US and Europe.
