William H. Conn

William Conn (1895-1973) was a black and white artist and cartoonist who was born and began his career in Belfast. He was educated at Ulster Provincial School and at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. In 1936, he became staff artist on the Belfast Telegraph and Ireland’s Saturday Night.

In 1933, William held an exhibition at the Ulster Arts Club where he was a member and then showed only four works at the Royal Hibernian Academy from 1934-1935. After Conn died in hospital, a memorial exhibition was held at the Ulster Arts Club.
