Waller Hugh Paton
Artist Bio

Waller Hugh Paton (1828-1895) was a Scottish landscape artist with a penchant for creating work ‘en plain air.’ He started out as a damask designer, working alongside his father, but went on to train under fellow artist John Houston, RSA.
He was elected an associate of the Royal Scottish Academy (ARSA) in 1857 and became a full member (RSA) in 1865. In 1878 he became a member of the Royal Society of Water-colourists (RSW).
