Richard J. Croft PPRUA

Richard J Croft was born in London in 1935 and was educated at Bromley College of Art from 1951-1955 and then furthered his education at Brighton College of Art. In 1959, Croft moved to Belfast and became Head of Art at Annadale Grammar School.

In 1969, Richard became a Royal Ulster Academician and then President from 1997-2000. He has a wide range of mediums including oil, pastel, watercolour and print.

When Croft retired from teaching, he set up a studio in Dundrum, Co Down. He described his method of painting as ‘funambulism or tightrope walking’.
