Patrick Leonard HRHA

Patrick Leonard (1918-2005) was born in Dublin, studying there at the Metropolitan School of Art under Sean Keating and Maurice MacGonigal. He was a realist genre painter and a full-time teacher, exhibiting regularly with the Royal Hibernian Academy and being made an honorary member in 1983. Leonard has also exhibited with the Oriel Gallery in Dublin and the Victor Waddington Gallery, with retrospectives being held at James Adam & Sons and The Gorry Gallery in Dublin.
He represented Ireland in 1952 at the Olympic Games exhibition at Helsinki and James Gorry wrote a book on his life as an artist entitled Patrick Leonard HRHA - Fifty Years of Painting.
