Martin Mooney
Artist Bio

Martin Mooney was born in Belfast in 1960 and paints still life and landscape scenes. He attended the University of Ulster’s Faculty of Art and Design, gained an Honours Degree in Fine Art from the Brighton College of Art and Design and studied a postgraduate course at the Slade School of Fine Art in London.
The artist takes influence from the traditions of en plein-air, Impressionism and the Barbizon Landscape School, along with various Spanish landscape artists.
Mooney has received several notable prizes including the ‘Richard Ford Award’ from the Royal Academy and his work has been exhibited with the Royal Hibernian Academy, the Portland Gallery in London and the Solomon Gallery in Dublin, among others.
