Martin Gale was born in Worcester in 1949 but grew up in Ireland. In 1973, Gale graduated from the National College of Art and Design.
Martin first exhibited his work in 1975 in the Neptune Gallery, Dublin and then moved on to show his work in the Taylor Galleries. His subject matter is typically the Irish landscape and the people of our world today, using both oils and watercolours.
In 1980, Gale was the main artist touring Ireland on the Arts Council touring exhibition. Today, his work can be seen in many public and private collections throughout Ireland, England, Europe and the USA.
