Artist Bio
Born in 1963, Mark Shields has proved himself both a gifted and versatile artist. Studying at the University of Ulster, he received a BA in Fine Art and a PGCE in Art and Design. Mark's work is often centred on the human figure and he has gained notoriety through his intricate style of portrait painting.
Shields has exhibited at the Royal Academy, the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Ulster Academy. The artist has received various prestigious awards and portrait commissions, including H.R.H. The Prince of Wales for the Headquarters of the Royal Gurkha Rifles.
