Liam Treacy
Artist Bio
Liam Treacy (1934-2004) was an Irish painter born in Avoca, Co. Wicklow. It was the artist Yann Renard Goulet who recognised his talent from a young age, taking him in drawing lessons and introducing him to the work of Claude Monet. It was during this time that his style of impressionism developed. Treacy worked as a sign and letter writer for Brennan’s Bakery in Arklow and as an educator for a number of years, before taking up painting as a full time profession.
A regular exhibitor, the artist showed work at the RHA, the Kenny Gallery and the Eakin Gallery, among many others.
