Artist Bio
Julian Friers was a wildlife painter born in Bangor, Northern Ireland in 1956. Friers attended the Belfast College of Art, later becoming a professional wildlife painter. His first solo exhibition was held in 1977. The ‘Irish Impressionists’ influenced him greatly to adopt a similar approach to painting. In 2009, Friers was appointed President of the Royal Ulster Academy. His works are included in various public and private collections, including in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and the USA.
