John French

John French was born in 1936 in Waco, Texas and was purely self-taught. It was during his childhood that he became passionate about art, along with the rustic, western lifestyles of cowboys and Navajo Indians, an interest which carried through into his work. Many of the artist’s paintings are influenced by his experiences in ranch work and working with teams of horse and mules.

French has worked as an illustrator and one of his paintings were presented to First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
