Artist Bio

Graham Isom

Born in 1945 in Farnborough, Kent, Graham Isom was brought up around horses, with his father owning a riding school. This has heavily influenced his art work, resulting in him becoming one of the leaders in equine art. He studied sculpture at Ravensbourne College of Art, going on to teach for a number of years in Dorset, England, until the private commissions he was gaining allowed him to devote his time fully to painting.

In 1973 he entered into freelance work and in 1988, when he moved to Somerset, his work started to gain a lot of attention. He was accepted into the American Academy of Equine Artists for three years in a row (1990-1993) and the Society of Equine Artists. Isom was presented with Best Racing Picture, Best Sporting Picture and Most Popular Picture in 1993. His work is heavily sought after and has been exhibited throughout the UK and US.
