Father Jack P. Hanlon RHA
Artist Bio

Father Jack P Hanlon was a painter of figure compositions, flower pieces and religious subjects. Born in Dublin, he was one of the few Irish artists to be influenced by French modernism.
Hanlon’s common approach to his paintings was to use white in order to define objects and to give them an atmospheric glow. Flowers were his most popular subject matter as the colours allowed him to express his inner self. 1936 was the first year that Father Jack exhibited his work in the Royal Hibernian Academy, having travelled to France in order to further his education and experience in painting.
