Arthur K. Maderson

Arthur Maderson was born in London in 1942. He is a contemporary artist, greatly influenced by the French Impressionists. He attended the Camberwell School of Art where he won the prestigious Anna Berry Award. It was not until the age of 40 that he felt confident enough to share his work, but from 1983 onwards he began exhibiting widely throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and US. He has been presented with various awards, including the Royal West of England Academy Cornelissen Award for ‘Most Distinguished Painting’ (1987) and the Royal Hibernian Academy Abbey Studio Award for ‘Most Distinguished Picture’ (1993). Along with painting, Maderson worked as an art therapist at Park Prewett Psychiatry Hospital in Hampshire.
