Born in Dublin in 1961 and brought up in Killybegs, Co. Donegal, Kevin Sharkey has enjoyed an eclectic mix of careers and projects. He began painting from an early age, developing a modern style which incorporates abstract themes and bright, textured colours. Exhibiting widely throughout Ireland, the UK, US and Europe, the artist's work has been well received and purchased by a number of well-known celebrities. Aside from painting, Sharkey has worked on several TV shows including Megamix, Father Ted and Celebrity Farm. He has also spent time as a photographer, a model and directed a number of short films.
