Tracey Emin was a London based artist born in Croydon, England in 1963. In 1986, Emin graduated from the Maidstone College of Art in Fine Arts and then in 1989, she was awarded a master at the Royal College of Art for painting. She then became a professor at the European Graduate School in Confessional Art.
Tracey became a Royal Academician at the Royal College of Art and was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate. From the University of Kent she was awarded Doctor of Letters and a Doctor of Philosophy from London Metropolitan University.
Emin’s work is known to be intimate and to have an attitude, which captivates the viewer. She pushes the boundaries of both her art and her writing, which leads to viewers interpreting various meanings.
