Artist Bio

Born 1867 the son of a weaver, Thomas Clough initially worked as a lithographic printer. He came to prominence as a painter in 1893 when a work ‘ Gorsey Heath ‘ was accepted by The Royal Academy. He went on to exhibit fourteen times at The Royal Academy. A prolific painter in both oils and watercolour, his subjects were mainly landscape and harbour scenes. He died in 1943.
