Ross Wilson ARUA
Artist Bio

Ross Wilson was born in 1958 and has established himself as both a highly collectable and well-known Irish artist. He graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Fine Art from the University of Ulster and received his Masters from the Chelsea School of Art in London. The artist has acquired several key commissions, including those of various Nobel Laureates, of the St Lucian Prize winner Derek Walcott for the National Portrait Gallery in London and a study which also hangs in the National Portrait Gallery.
Aside from painting, Wilson has been a visiting speaker at Harvard University and the University of Oxford and helped set up ‘New Art of the Irish,’ an open exhibition which showcases a new generation of Irish artists. He has also produced a number of sculptures and in 1998 his second public bronze, the C.S. Lewis Centenary Sculpture was placed at the Holywood Arches in Belfast.
