Neil Shawcross RHA RUA
Artist Bio
Neil Shawcross was born in England in 1940, but has lived in Ireland since 1962. He was educated at Bolton College of Art and then at Lancaster College of Art. He has exhibited extensively at many galleries throughout Ireland, as well as in London, Hong Kong and the USA. He went on to teach at the Belfast College of Art and now spends his retirement devoting his time to art.
Whilst exhibiting at the Ulster Museum and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Shawcross is also a five-time recipient of the Royal Ulster Academy Gold Medal. His works are incredibly popular amongst collectors in both Ireland and abroad. In 1975, he became an associate of the Royal Ulster Academy, becoming an Academician in 1977.
