Artist Bio
May Guinness (1863-1955) was an Irish visual artist who was born in Dublin and exhibited regularly with the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) between 1897 and 1911. After travelling to Cornwall to study with the Newlyn School, she was educated in Paris (1905-1907) and then again after the war under André Lhote, whose taste for Cubism would come to influence her work.
