Margaret Fisher Prout ARA RWS

Margaret Fisher Prout (1875-1963) was an English artist who painted landscapes, flowers and figures in impressionist style. Having a painter for a father, the artist Mark Fisher, bestowed on her the chance of early tuition, with her later attending the Slade School (1894-1897). Aside from painting, she taught drawing at the Hammersmith School of Arts and Crafts.
Prout exhibited regularly at the New English Art Club, the Royal Academy, of which she was elected an associate (1948), and the Royal Watercolour Society, of which she was elected a member (1945).
