James Downie
Artist Bio
Born in Manchester, James Downie worked in the building industry until 1989 before painting full time. His interest in art began early as he was strongly influenced by the architecture and people of Manchester, documenting bustling city workers and walks through the countryside. Often depicting retro subjects, Downie creates nostalgic depictions of everyday life across both city and rural scenes.
