Artist Jack Caprani was born in the village of Donnycarney on Dublin's Northside in 1933.

He worked all his professional life in the printing trade, at the origination end. It was while working on the reproduction of oil paintings for the National Art Gallery of Ireland that he became interested in art, particularly The Impressionists and he was inspired to travel to Paris and study the works of Monet and Sisley and other Impressionists.

Jack is primarily self taught and has been painting for thirty five years.

Jack was Chairman for the first three years of Art Works Gallery, Malahide. He won first prize in the professional class and was overall winner of the Fingal Art Competition judged by Thomas Ryan Esq. Past President of The Royal Hibernian Accademy.

Jack has enjoyed continued success over the years exhibiting his art work for many recognised charitable organisations and on the railings at Malahide, Co. Dublin and Saint Stephen's Green and Merrion Square in Dublins City Centre. Jack has also been privately commissioned on many occasions.

His latest works of art were painted while he cocooned during the Covid 19 lockdown and this is his first venture into on-line auction.
