Edward Delaney RHA

Irish sculptor, Edward Delaney, was born in County Mayo in 1930. He attended the National College of Art and Design, the Academie der Bildenden Kunst, Munich and the Academie Bella Arte Rosa, Rome. Influenced by Celtic art and European modernism, Delaney exhibited his figurative sculpture from the late 1950s. He represented Ireland at the Paris Biennale in 1959 and 1961, and his work has been exhibited in Tokyo, Buenos Aires and New York. He is represented in many major collections, including the Central Bank of Ireland, Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, Ulster Museum, First National Bank of Chicago, First National City Bank of New York, An Chomhairle Ealaíon/The Irish Arts Council, KLM Airlines Headquarters, and the Abbey Theatre.
