Dame Elisabeth Frink RA Biography and Works - Ross's Auctioneers & Valuers

Dame Elisabeth Frink RA

Dame Elisabeth Frink RA

Dame Elisabeth Frink was born in Suffolk in 1930 and grew up in the outdoors. Frink was educated in Exmouth and then went on to study at the Guildford and Chelsea schools of art from 1947-1953.

In 1952, Dame Elisabeth held her first solo exhibition at the Beaux Arts Gallery. It was here that the Tate gallery first purchased one of her works and because of this, her reputation grew around Britain.

Frink was known to treat her works of art with a rough approach but this became her unique style and was an expression of her inner self.
