Charles W. Harvey
Artist Bio
Charles Harvey (1895-1979) was born in London but raised in Belfast and was known for his landscape paintings. He was educated first at the Belfast School of Art and then for a short period at the Metropolitan School of Art in Dublin. He trained as a damask designer and from 1932 to 1960 he taught in St Mary’s Training College in Belfast, from which he retired as head of the art department.
In 1976 a retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the Arts Council Gallery.
