Barrie Cooke HRHA

Barrie Cooke was born in Cheshire, England in 1931 and was educated at Harvard University studying art history, having travelled to Jamaica and Bermuda during his childhood.

In 1950, Cooke held his first solo exhibition in New York and then received a scholarship to Salzburg in 1955. Since the late 1950’s, Cooke has been based in Ireland but has travelled to places such as Lapland, New Zealand, Borneo and Malaya where he has been extremely influenced by his surroundings.

Barrie’s work has been exhibited throughout Europe, the U.S and Canada.
