Hugh Boycott Brown RSMA

Hugh Boycott Brown was a marine artist born in Bushy, Hertfordshire and was also educated in the Margaret Frobisher School in Bushy. In 1929, he later began teaching in the Royal Masonic Junior School and then he continued his own education in art at the Watford School of Art and at the Heatherley’s school of art.

 

Throughout Brown’s career in the army and as an art teacher, he continued to paint and exhibited his works at the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.

 

Today, Hugh’s work can be seen at the National Maritime Museum, Cornwall and at the Bushey Museum & Art Gallery.
