Barbara Freeman ARUA
Artist Bio
Barbara Freeman was born in London and was educated at St. Martins and Camberwell Colleges of Art. She then went on to live and work in Belfast. Throughout Barbara’s career she has had over 40 solo exhibitions in places such as Ireland, Britain, the USA, Hungary, Germany and former Yogoslavia. One of her more recent exhibitions was in ‘New Irish Painting’ at the Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast.
Freeman is known particularly for her painting and printing; however, she has been involved with composers and musicians who require a visual art for their piece. This idea is something, which has become popular in our modern world.
Recently, Freeman has been worked closely with patients and doctors in order to create a series of images to visualise what these people are feeling and also to capture their experience. This pushes Barbara to discover new material, new thoughts and new experiences, which are portrayed through her artwork.
